what we do

Through donated solar panels and installation support, Project SunShare helps families reduce energy costs and increase energy independence.

In partnership with LPEA, the Sunnyside Community Solar Program helps reduce energy costs while expanding access to clean, renewable energy in our region.

Support for businesses and organizations transitioning to electric fleets. Identify funding programs, plan infrastructure, coordinate implementation, and access fleet analysis.

let the sunshine work for everyone

Project SunShare helps income-qualified working families - like teachers, service workers, and caregivers - install rooftop solar they otherwise couldn't afford. By reducing monthly electric bills, families gain long-term financial freedom.

support project sunshare!

Every dollar goes directly toward solar installation equipment and labor for income-qualified families in our region. Every contribution helps!

What to Know About Project SunShare

Project Sunshare serves households earning up to 150% of Area Median Income (AMI).

Thanks to Shaw Solar's generous equipment donation, the project has secured 100 kW of solar panels— enough to power 20-25 solar arrays!

We rely on local donors to support Project SunShare. Qualified applicants will contribute the remaining cost based on a sliding scale - if you make <80% AMI, you will contribute less than a household making at or below 150% AMI. Projects can be up to 6.3 kWh.

WHERE YOUR DONATION GOES

Your donation goes directly toward rooftop solar installations for families who otherwise couldn’t afford it:

  • $100 – Helps fund initial solar assessments for eligible homes.

  • $250 – Covers one solar panel, immediately cutting energy costs for a family.

  • $1,300 – Funds an entire rooftop solar array, transforming a household’s future.

*All donations are tax-deductible and directly benefit local families in our community.

This program is available to working homeowners within Shaw Solar's service territory - the majority of Archuleta, La Plata, and Montezuma Counties, and the towns of Silverton and Dolores. Qualified applicants will be pre-selected through a lottery process.

Applicants:

  • Will be selected through a lottery process for each project - lottery is currently full

  • Applicants not selected will be rolled over into the next lottery

  • Must own their own home and meet solar site requirements.

  • Live in their home

  • Make at or below150% of the Area Median Income (AMI).
