The City of Durango and 4CORE (Four Corners Office for Resource Efficiency) are teaming up to help residents cut energy costs and reduce carbon emissions—starting with a smarter thermostat and a thorough look at your home’s efficiency.
What’s Included
Residents who sign up for a home energy assessment through 4CORE and Energy Smart Colorado are eligible for the Durango Thermostat Replacement Program, which includes:
FREE programmable thermostat (valued at $120+)
FREE professional installation
FREE home energy assessment (a $550 value!)
FREE energy upgrades, such as:
LED light bulb installation
Low-flow showerheads and faucet aerators
Water heater setback
Weather stripping and more

Not interested in the thermostat program? You can still benefit from deep discounts on energy assessments, thanks to funding from LPEA, Atmos Energy, and Tri-State Electric Co-op.
Energy assessment pricing:
FREE for Durango Residents participating in the Thermostat Replacement Program
$50 for households at or below 150% of Area Median Income (AMI)
$100 for all others
Participants will initially pay $250 at the time of the assessment, which is reimbursed through an LPEA rebate—bringing your total cost down.
