Community Energy Coordination Minimize
4CORE was designated by the Colorado Governor's Energy Office (now the Colorado Energy Office) as Southwest Colorado's Community Energy Coordinator (CEC). This means 4CORE collaborates with local government, community groups, businesses, and utilities to build energy strategies that meet the specific needs of the region. 4CORE has established an advisory board made up of community stakeholders to develop a three to five year Strategy and Action Plan for their region. Our regional plan is called the Resource and Energy Action Plan (REAP). The Advisory Board also provides regular input and feedback regarding the progress of the CEC’s work in the community.

Colorado Sustainability Collaborative Minimize
4CORE is working to implement the REAP by working with the Alliance for Sustainable Colorado on a statewide network of regional organizations to link sustainability efforts within and among different regions in Colorado. The Colorado Sustainability Collaborative is comprised of both urban and rural groups, focused on one or more sustainability issues. The long term vision is to implement comprehensive sustainability plans in each region which then fold up into a statewide effort.  Examples of collaborative projects include securing long-term viable funding; sharing marketing materials and campaigns; developing a web-based database with ad hoc query functionality that tracks sustainability organizations, projects and plans in Colorado; and addressing specific sustainability issues that overlap two or more regions.
